Michael Macolino

Michael is a Senior Manager within the BDO Technology Advisory team, where he leads the development of the AgTech practice, working to define and solve challenges that
Technology can solve throughout the Agricultural supply chain. Michael is also the Expert in Residence at the University of Adelaide’s ThincLab AgTech Incubator. Through this role, Michael is able to work closely with AgTech companies to commercialise and scale their technologies.

Michael has been building businesses since the age of 21. Over this time Michael built a gym, a luxury car and boat detailing business, e-commerce stores and two successful
technology consulting businesses. He also led the development of the $30 Million Crown Marina, taking it from concept through to reality, gaining stringent environmental approvals and raising the capital required in the midst of the GFC.

Michael has been involved with the entrepreneurial and start-up community for many years, partaking in programs such as SAYES, Propel and EO Accelerator where he learnt how to scale his companies and deal with the many challenges of entrepreneurship. He is a strong advocate for mentorship in the start-up eco-system, supporting TechStars, NVI, Mass Challenge, Start-up Weekend and ThincLab.
